AWAKENING MOTHER EARTH

If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”
Within each of us, there are elements waiting to be awakened. The earth resides in all of our bodies, and through these elements we not only learn more about ourselves but, in turn, learn more about this beautiful place we call home. The Awakening Mother Earth series unites the world we live in to the world that resides within us.
These women have stories behind their chosen element. Each woman chose an element for the time in their lives, for whatever they might have been learning, experiencing; whatever they are feeling the most compatible with at that time. Each element is a journey into the awakening within ourselves.
The very light that shines within me is strengthened by the women who have been a part of Awakening Mother Earth. I am honored to be a part of their awakening journey.
Ashley Myers
I work out of Nevada and California, constantly traveling between the two. I started professionally dancing and modeling at the age of twelve, which brought me to love the beauty we all have and the process of capturing it through film. I started photographing women for Awakening Mother Earth three years ago, to promote for myself what I feel to be true with me. By working with the elements and learning how we can better care for the needs of body, mind and spirit, we can find some sort of compassion or love for one another, and maybe understand each other better in a nonjudgemental light.
